The third Automated Trading Championship is over. Winners have received their prizes and awards.
The First Place was taken by
Kiril Kartuniv from Bulgaria. His Expert Advisor executed only 27 trades, but for 3 months managed to increase the deposit till 170 thousand dollars. Kiril won the prize of 40,000
US dollars from the Major Sponsor -
Forex Capital Markets LLC (FXCM) - and the award for the first place.

First, I would like to thank the contest Organizers and the contest Sponsors for making the Automated Trading Championship 2008 possible! It is a great idea and it is even greater to put it into practice. I would like also to congratulate all Participants of the top 30 on their successful developments! We observed great performing EAs this year 08. There were sharp rises to salute and even sharper falls to make us not forget the chaotic market behavior.
I hope that the work of so many developers in this area will contribute to the improvement of market stability and avoiding of panic in the markets when more and more advanced EAs are developed and used to do trading in the future.
The path was opened by the developers of the MetaQuotes Software Corp. via providing the programming language as a tool for creating trading Expert Advisors.
I want to believe that with the future development of the language (MQL5) and the existence of so many developers gathering experience, making new algorithms and implementing them, the next Automated Trading Championship 09 will be even more popular and interesting. Good luck to everyone!
The Second Place was taken by the Participant from Israel -
Vladimir Lekhovitser. Vladimir's Expert Advisor earned 156,650 USD letting him win 25,000 USD from our Golden Sponsor -
Interbank FX LLC and the second-place award.
Our point in the coordinate grid is shifted directing the dotted line towards new targets. Thanks to general possibilities of MetaQuotes Software Corp., we achieve new operation results of a higher quality. In the next Championship, we are going to present a multi-currency system with heavy means containing only accurate entries and strict exits with profits; the final balance target is increased twice as compared to this year's result; trade closing is aimed at achieving a tight profitable chart.
We would like to thank all participating in the organization of the Championship.
See you in September.
The Third Place was taken by a Participant from Latvia -
Nauris Zukas.
Nauris's Expert Advisor executed about 600 trades that allowed him finishing the Championship with 156 thousand dollars on his account. Nauris got the prize of 15,000 US dollars from our Silver Sponsor -
FXDD and a third-place award.

I was very glad to participate in the Championship and prove to myself that I can compete with professional programmers. For I have got acquainted with the MQL4 language not so long ago, all my Expert Advisors are very simple. But as the contest results show, simple thing can be the most efficient one. Generally I believe that three month's period is not enough for a normal testing of EAs; in such a case everything depends on luck. I think luck was unfavorable to me, because I was sure I would take the first place.
I cannot tell anything about other Participants' Expert Advisors, because I didn't have time to analyze them - now I am getting the MBA degree and spend much time reading up for exams. There were several Expert Advisors on the Championship similar to my EA, which is no wonder, because they are very simple and efficient strategies. Though, it was a surprise for me that so few people saw highly profitable Expert Advisors in such strategies. I have only one purpose in Forex - earning money! And the method - sporting or non-sporting - makes no difference. The main point is that the EA should meet the requirements set by a broker.
Once again we would like to thank our Sponsors - Forex Capital Markets LLC (FXCM), Interbank FX LLC, FXDD and the TRADERS' magazine for their help in the organization of the Automated Trading Championship 2008.
Is there a chance to peek into the winners' programs? Or at least read about tools they implemented for buy-sell-stop signals?
Hi,
The question Joshua asked is very important and I think that is one thing a member can benefit. Can someone PLEASE help member traders out of problems?
