Registration Is Over!Registration of Participants of the Automated Trading Championship 2008 is over! For almost three months we accepted applications for participation in the contest. 2420 persons have registered on the website. This is 400 more than last year. 770 developers have submitted their Expert Advisors. They constitute 32% of all persons that submitted applications for participation in the Championship. These developers have fully completed registration, i.e. they have submitted their Expert Advisors and filled in all necessary personal details.
The diagram shows that 69% were not included into the list of Participants. There are several reasons for this. For example, 35% of those who registered did not submit their EAs, or their programs did not pass automated checking. Despite numerous reminders, 6 (0,25%) of developers did not fill in their personal details. They also were not admitted to the contest. Persons remaining are those who neither submitted an Expert Advisor nor filled in personal information. They amount to 33%. On the 19th of September 2008 at 23:59 (Moscow time) Registration for participation in the contest was closed. Since that time we do not accept Expert Advisors anymore. The system of automated EA checking was stopped. The days that are left till the Championship start will be devoted to the manual checking of Participants. We will check the correctness of personal information of each Participant. The fact of multiple registrations will be obligatorily checked as well. The final list of Participants will be made up and published on the 1st of October 2008. Hi, I am disqualified due to a 2.5 and 2.6: 5. The Participant can be registered only once within the Championship. Registration of your friends or relatives instead of you will result in your disqualification. If any registered persons display their ignorance of trading, they will be disqualified 6. The attempts of multiple registrations or use of anonymous proxies will result in unambiguous disqualification of the Participant. but I have only one account. What is wrong? Has anybody same problem here? I think proxy is a thinkg that matter, but this is how my internet connection is and I cannot change it. Even I did not know what a proxy situation I have, till they did not disqualify me. I have very similar feelings as Codersguru and even because of such a stupid and unpredictable thing. Is there a way, how to correct it? To use a different internet connection, for example? 2008.09.23 12:55

Thanks Coders' Guru All new Expert Advisors are subject to checks. Not all of them pass the automatic check successfully from the first time. Many EAs work with errors and developers need time to correct them. And if a program is sent on the last registration day and the automatic check detects errors in it, a developer will not have time to correct them. Thus such an EA writer loses the chance to win. Expert Advisors can be submitted till the registration end. You may also make changes in already submitted EA and send it for checking again. But after the 19th of September you are not allowed to make any changes. In the previous Championship there were persons that begged us to accept their developments after registration was over. But rules are the same for everyone and we didn't make any exceptions last year. last year over 130 participants were disqualified for multiple registrations and other related infringements. trying to win is one thing but trying to win at all cost is another. the essence of this championship for participants is to see whether their EA is good enough to win or be amongst the top 10. the other i believe is to test on the long run if their EA is profitable and can be used for live trading. i believe any EA which at the end of the tournament has made 50% gain is good for live trading. other potential benefit is to sell your EA to the world. over 30 EAs where solicited to buy by potential users after last year championship. it is tempting to to do multiple registration in other to increase ones chances of winning. it even crossed my mind once as i believe almost all the other contestants, but i discarded the idea. there are other benefits to be derived from simply taking part in the championship as i stated above. after all over 600 participants are taking part for only three price wining spots. let the very best carry the day...
