The Automated Trading Championship 2007 Is Over!

12 weeks of the most interesting, most exciting event in the world of automated trading - the Automated Trading Championship 2007 have passed. All Expert Advisors have been stopped. It's time to acclaim the Winners and hand them their prizes.

Kub (EURUSD 1 minute)
130 475 USD

The first place in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 was taken by Olexandr Topchylo (Better) from Ukraine. Olexandr participated in Championship 2006, but without success. Having learned all lessons of the preceding contest, Olexandr won by a head this year. He held the first line in the Top Ten table during five weeks.

Olexandr's Expert Advisor is based on neural networks. His trading system is rather sophisticated and consists of three independent subsystems. It helped the EA to be way ahead of its opponents, earn 130 thousand dollars, and take the first place. Its average profit per trade makes 303 dollars. The Profit Factor of this EA is 2.24. Olexandr's Expert Advisor demonstrated that not only risky EAs can gain large profits. The Expert Advisor's efficiency makes 52%, whereas its risk level is just a little above 15%. Olexandr will get the award of The First Place in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 and the prize of 40 000 dollars from ODL Securities Limited. Congratulations, Olexandr!

Bogie-ATC2007-1 (EURUSD daily)
55 042 USD

The second place was the subject of the really earnest struggle during the last several weeks. So this place was taken by the Participant from the United States of America, William Boatright (wackena), with his 55 thousand dollars just one day before the end of the contest. He supposes timeframes coded in his Expert Advisor to make the latter one more reliable.

William's Expert Advisor is based on analysis of large amounts of historical data that help the EA to detect the best time for opening its positions. The developer himself confesses that his EA is rather risky, although its risk level is not much higher than that of Olexandr's EA. The Expert Advisor's Profit Factor makes 2.54, efficiency - exactly 20%. The average profit per trade made 299 dollars in this trading system. William will get the award of The Second Place in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 and 25 000 dollars from Alpari (UK) Limited. Congratulations, William!

3
Pegasmaster

Pegas (GBPUSD 15 minutes)
39 945 USD

The third place was taken by Vasiliy Lavrinenko (PegasMaster) from Ukraine. His Expert Advisor, Pegas, slowly but surely went to the top of the table of Participants and entered Top Ten only the last several weeks. Though the EA went rather surely, its profit was far below that of the leaders. However, the Expert Advisor managed to add nearly 10 thousand dollars to its balance and take the third place on the last day of the Championship.

The Expert Advisor of this Participant is characterized with a small amount of positions and long position holding time. The EA had held one of the trades for 130 hours. It does not seem to be in vain. The Expert Advisor's expected payoff is now 1 100 dollars. This is the highest value among the Winners. Besides, over 80% of its trades are profitable. Its Profit Factor is higher than those of other Winners: 3.03. The efficiency of the EA is quite good, too: 21%. Vasiliy will get the award of The Third Place in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 and 15 000 dollars from FXDD. Congratulations, Vasiliy!

The Automated Trading Championship 2007 is over. We would like to thank all Winners, Participants and Sponsors.

Recall that the Winners should submit their personal details according to Clause 8 of the Championship Rules. Otherwise, they will be disqualified. The list of Winners will then revised.
