Reporting the 7th Week of the Championship (12-18 November)

The 7th week of the Championship ended with several surprises. The first place has been taken by a Participant from Ukraine winning "by a head". The last-weeks leader has given his place to others and gone somewhere beyond the first page.

Thus, the first place is taken by Better (Ukraine). His Expert Advisor does not often make losing trades - they make about one third of all his operations. Besides, the losses are comparatively low: the mean losing trade results in losing only 289 dollars, whereas an average profitable trade brings 364 dollars. MAE and MFE graphs are very illustrative, too. The EA tries not to "sit losses out", but closes losing positions as soon as possible. As a result, it managed to have gained 42 thousand dollars by the end of the 7th week and distanced all rivals. We witnessed many ups and downs during the Championship, this is not a case, however. Our congratulations to Better to his first place. We wish him further success in trading.

The second place is taken by a Participant from Canada, Newman2. His Expert Advisor is rather interesting, too. It allows profits to grow and has gained 18 thousand dollars within only one trade of 1.6 lots! It makes 1 237 points. It is rather difficult to judge about other characteristics of this EA, but there is no doubt that it does not hamper the progress of profit! This fact alone may make this Participant the one of the Winners of the Championship. It remains to be seen.

The third week is taken by Participant minglee2008 from Thailand this week. He was not in the Top 10 the preceding week, and now we see him among the Top Three. Analysis of the trades shows that his EA is not very stable. It gains large profits, but it also allows large losses to happen. It is very difficult to judge about this Expert Advisor's future. Let's wait and see.

The fate of the last-weeks leader, MiltonWaddams, turns out to be less successful. The Participant did not close his positions in time, so he did not fix his equity at the level of 50 000 dollars. He is far beyond the first page now and seems not to have to struggle for a place in the Top Three anymore. This situation confirms once again how important it is both to enter and to leave the market.

Equity of the Top Ten upswung this week. It increased by 35 000 and made 202 thousand dollars. This is a rather quick growth accompanied by appearance of new Participants in the Top Ten. Seemingly, not all the risky Expert Advisors have taken their places on the last pages of the Participants table. This means that we will witness some correction in distribution of places in future. And again, we would like to wish everybody good luck and much success in automated trading!

Interview with Alexei Ermolaev (Zyx40) I began trading with ready-made indicator-based Expert Advisors, but I learned very soon that they did not have prospects. The matter is that an indicator sees events in the market very limitedly. It does not work at the points where it diverges from the market.	Interview with Olexandr Topchylo (Better) Olexandr performed unsuccessfully in the last-year Championship, and this failure was the making of him. He learned his lesson and became the leader of Championship 2007 with a huge equity!
