Jury Session Record of the 12th of November 2007

The issue of disqualification of eight Participants was discussed at the Jury session.

500017 - the Expert Advisor tries to open a position of 5 lots without checking the free margin. The terminal logs are full of messages of "Not enough money". It is obvious that the Participant's EA is not provided with volume calculation. It will unlikely be able to trade on. Participants 500539 and 500382 tried to trade without free margin, too.

Expert Advisors 500082 and 500481 place wrong prices for their trades and charge logs with the messages of "Invalid price". As well, in the case of Participant 500481, the server RAM was charged up to 2 GB.

EAs of Participants 500472 and 500049 define wrongly the amount of lots for making their trades. However, this does not stop them, and the Expert Advisors go on filling out logs with the messages of "Invalid lots amount for OrderSend function".

All the above Expert Advisors violate Clause III.6 of the Rules (as many of their predecessors did):

Experts can contain limitations to be used outside the Championship, but they must:

  • never contain any critical bugs (like looping or hanging up, etc.) or explicitly harmful actions in the code
  • be economical with the use of resources on the processor and PC memory

Finally, Expert Advisor 500598 tries to trade symbols that are not allowed by the Rules. This is direct violation of Clause IV.3:

Trading Terms:

It was decided to call a new session of the Jury. The Jury Members voted about disqualification of the above Participants.

Voting:

Renat Fatkhullin:

Stanislav Starikov: Agreed
Alex Mackinnon: Agreed
Andrey Vedikhin: Agreed
Asher Rogovy: Abstained
Thomas Bopp: Agreed

The Jury decided to disqualify the above Participants by a majority of votes.

Interview with Tai Elliott (MiltonWaddams)

At present, I'm interested more in something which has proven results over a long period without any intervention, rather than an EA which requires frequent optimization.
