Automated Trading Championship 2007 Has Begun!

Today is the 1st of October, the day when the Automated Trading Championship 2007 starts. Registration and checks of Participants are finished. 603 Participants are admitted to the Championship.

The majority of Participants are, like last year, from Russia and Ukraine. They are followed by developers from the USA who made about 7% of all Participants. The developers from China who were the fourth in amount last year take the 7th place this time. The most surprising are Expert Advisors’ writers from Iran: they take the 10th place. Well, all above is just boring statistics. We will see in 3 months the residents of which countries win this time.

Like a year before, the Championship website has significantly changed with its beginning. All news of the Championship are immediately published there. The first page of the website always contains the TOP 10 developers' positions on charts. Details of other Participants can be found in the corresponding section.

Registration Is Closed!

Everybody could apply for participation in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 within 3 months. 2011 people have been registered. 731 Expert Advisors have already been checked and are ready to start the contest.
Reporting the Championship: First Week (1 – 7 October)

One week has elapsed since the Championship started. The Top Three Expert Advisors have increased their deposits almost two times. The total profit of the Top Ten has made about US$81 000 within the first week. Time will tell whether they are able to hold the field.

Dear Jury,

I have noticed, that on GBPUSD pair (2007.10.04 and 2007.10.05 durinng day not night)) were breakes in quotation (first time about 1hour and second time about half an hour) and after, these missing bars are were comleted and already existing !!. I am sure that during this time the servers were switched off because all my variables were canceled and they do not remember the early values and behaves like the servers were switched on first time. Now I know that I should foresee this situation in my EA.

So my question is following: Are the servers working all the time or sometimes maybe are switched off?

Just to report, I found this line in my journal
2007.10.05 20:04:45 '500132': order #4882809 buy 1.50 EURUSD closing at 1.4151 failed [Off quotes]
it seems affected the performance.

Are you able to delete my pending order? I try to send a order failed and this trigger my pending order to be send as well. But in this contest, I only allow to have 1 trade at a time for my EA. So now my EA will not work till this pending order is filled. Will you able to delete the pending order for me. Thanks

Someone from Metaquotes or Renat,

I have a couple of problems with the website. When I'm logged into my account named 'RobinHood' I cannot view the other Participants I get the following error message "PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 024C21A5". My account is the same as the 2006 Championship and nothing has changed. When I'm not logged in I can view all the participants fine.

The other problem I have is my expert advisor should of created a new file named TreasureFX.dat when it started running. There is no indication that the file has been created. Please check my account and let me know if the file exists.

It seems like MetaQuotes also have problems with their brokers :P
Look what pops up in my log file:

2007.10.02 16:01:49 '500588': login (4.00, #2A4F0888)
2007.10.02 16:01:11 '500588': connect failed [No connection]

My paranoia made me to look in other player's logs, to see if I was the only one, that won't be fair. And now I can sleep well: seems like everyone of us was disconnected from the trading server for about a minute at that time. C'est la gueeeerreee.. ..
As it is also happening in real life, this make the competition look more real :D
