2 Months of RegistrationTwo months have already passed since registration started. Over 1100 people have already applied for participation. More than 200 developers have submitted their Expert Advisors and personal details. 3 weeks are left to the end of registration. Those who want to participate in the Automated Trading Championship 2007 must manage to submit their Expert Advisors within this period of time. Still you can modify your submitted Expert Advisor till the 21st of September 2007. After this date, no changes can be made. Please be reminded that it is necessary to submit your personal details. An incorrectly filled registration form may cause your being barred from the contest. “We will do our best to accept all who wish to participate in the Championship. However, there are Rules and requirements that must be met. If this is not provided by applicants, we won’t be able to accept them for participation”, Stanislav Starikov, the Jury member from MetaQuotes Software Corp., said. “I would also like to advise all applicants to hurry up since not so much time is left. As it is usually the case, the majority suddenly starts to submit data when a few days are left to the end of registration. In such situation, we may just have no time to check data of some potential Participants. This is why it is our earnest request: If you have everything ready for the Championship, please don’t wait for the 21st of September to come and complete registration right now!” Created: 2007.08.31 Author: MetaQuotes

1 On 2007.09.07 14:30 (MetaQuotes contest demo server time), US Nonfarm Payroll number
was dramatic downside surprise, USD tanked, but the spread on GBP/USD in my temporary
contest account did not change from 3 pips. Is this simulation of real trading
conditions? During contest, will spread stay constant 3 pips no matter what? If
not, how much can spread on GBP/USD be expected to change during news release?

I have a few questions, and I want to make sure I understand everything clearly
before proceeding:
1.) The one EA will be attached to one chart. Can I trade different pairs with the EA at the same time? The maximum simultaneous open positions' number is 3, I know, but can they be on different pairs? 2.) Are there any restrictions regarding the names of the EAs? I mean I will submit "Honolulu v1", can my friend submit "Honolulu v2" to the championship? Thank you in advance. 2007.09.07 13:15
1. Just for comparison, are there any differences in "Symbol properties" used for MetaQuotes testing of EAs for ATC 2007 and the values in downloaded build 209 ? 2. When we use MetaQuotes posted Strategy Tester procedures ( 'Automated Trading Championshio 2007: Common Errors in Expert Advisors' ), should we expect to see identical results between MetaQuotes ST results and participant's results ? And, if not. What are possible reasons ? Savant wrote: Is it correct procedure to delete existing EA before uploading new EA? Can it have the same file name? I have done these things but have not received test results for new EA file. I notice the results from testing on EA are very different from results of testing on my account Each broker has a different server time or Market Watch time and this will greatly affect the size of each candle/bar. There are also other factors that will affect back tests such as the time when the broker opens and closes trading for the week, price (one pip can mean the difference from a winning trade or a losing one) and some brokers are not open on some holidays (missing candles/bars). A good rule of thumb it is best to code and back test your strategy only on the specific MT4 broker you intend to run the EA on because very few EAs will trade the same on other brokers. To receive the best results for the championship code, back test and if time allows forward test you EA on your Championship account. Rosh wrote:

I noticed the rules state that each lot step between orders 0.1. I was planning on only trading full standard lots. Does this mean I can't satisfy this requirement? I noticed participants from 2006 would jump more than 0.1 lots between orders. Some would go from 0.1 lot to over 2 lots. Is this a new rule for 2007? Thanks. Your EA can open an order with any amount of lots at any time. But size of order should be less then 5.0 lots. Do you understand now? 2007.09.04 11:25
