Championship Report: Sixth Week (6-13 November)Six weeks of the competition are behind us now. The Automated Trading Championship 2006 is the half way through. There are continuous movements in the Top Ten. Yesterday's leaders leave their places again. The first place at the end of the sixth week was taken by the developer from Brazil, the enthusiast of long keeping positions opened, Luis Damiani (ldamiani). The equity of his Expert Advisor, GUMASA, has made 28.5 thousand. 3 361 of them are in two open positions. Our congratulations to Luis! We hope that his expert will close these positions positively! But it is too early for Luis to rest on his laurels. He is followed close heels by one of the strongest Participants of the Championship, Harry Brinkhuis, (Hendrick). Harry trails Luis by less than 100 dollars. Moreover, the position of GUMASA is more precarious to be compared with Harry's Phoenix. Luis has total deposit of just 25 thousand and 3 thousand in open positions, Harry has 28 thousand and minus 200 dollars, respectively. We will observe the development of this opposition with great interest. And so far - our congratulations to Harry Brinkhuis! The third place has changed its owner again. This time, it is Ilya from Russia who uses the nick of VIA. His Expert Advisor, Mover, is particularly remarkable for its two features: it does not gain super profits, but all closed positions are positive! It is one of the most reliable experts in the Championship. It uses channels in its analyses. We will try to contact Ilya very soon and get to know more about his Expert Advisor. The third place, Ilya, keep it up! The sixth week turned to be not very successful for quite a number of profitable Expert Advisors. Vdiddy38 and Aver have lost ground within the last 5 days. They did not leave the first page, but their results are no longer the same. In spite of their failure, these Expert Advisors have good chances to compete for prizes. Hopefully, they will not lose these chances and they will overtake arrears. The most popular Participant of the Championship, Sashken, is out of luck, too. His only position has yielded losses of 16 285 dollars. Alexander's total equity is 13 thousand, and he takes only 17th place. Don't give up, Alexander! As of the end of the Championship sixth week, one interesting fact can be stated: the margin between the two leaders and their competitors is about 10 thousand dollars. Apparently, Expert Advisors developed by Luis and Harry are balanced by exposure and profitability most optimally. They take maximum of possible profits, but try not to allow losing trades. Their competitors' Expert Advisors are most probably built on the principle of "a pound in the purse is worth two in the book". They try not to allow losses, too, but they do not take enough profit, either. It will be difficult for them to overhaul the leaders of today and come up to the third or better places. The Top Ten of the sixth week:
The total equities of the Top Ten Expert Advisors did not change significantly during the previous weeks. This week has not brought any serious changes either. The total profit of the Top Ten Participants of the Automated Trading Championship 2006 is 81 thousand. Created: 2006.11.13 Author: MetaQuotes Software Corp.
