The fourth week of the Automated Trading Championship 2006 has ended. A month had already passed since the start of this competition, however, two months are still yet to come, therefore let us strike some balance.

This week, the first place was taken by expert advisor named Hercules developed by the American Participant, Vince Wells (Vdiddi38). Hercules was second place last week. This expert advisor closed some losing positions within the last five days. It did not seem to be able to go in the Top Three at all. However, two profitable positions were opened on Friday. At the same time, the results of the previous week’s leader, Sashken, became dramatically negative. It is these circumstances that helped Hercules to take the first place. Let us hope that Hercules will close the profitable positions successfully and consolidate its progress!

Expert Gumasa by Luis Damiani (ldamiani) from Brazil took the second place quite surprisingly. This expert competed for the first three weeks with varied success. Its deposit had made over 10 thousand by the end of the last week. But profits from two open positions were over 10 thousand, too. So Gumasa resulted in the equity of 21 thousand dollars. Our congratulations!

Unfortunately, leader of the previous week, Sashken, has much worse situation now. On the 26th of October, his expert opened a position that turned to be losing. Having had the highest deposit (29 316 dollars) before, Sashken moved to the third place bearing losses of almost ten thousand. As we have already known, his expert contains errors that do not allow to close losing positions. We cannot but hope the expert has properly predicted the direction of GBPUSD and will be able to close the position by TakeProfit.

On Tuesday, Vince Wells, the leader of this week, and Hendrick scrambled for the second place. Phoenix, Hendrick’s expert advisor, opened a profitable position and was about to close it. And his equity was above Vince’s equity at that time. However, the price dynamics turned, and Phoenix closed the position with the loss of 3500 dollars. It has taken the fifth place by the end of this week.

Top Ten of the Fourth Week:

This time, the total profits of the Top Ten expert advisors is practically the same! This relates to the fact that the most of the Top Ten Participants trade rather cautiously and increase their deposits gradually. At the same time, the Sashken's misfortune has influenced the total profits, too. Hopefully, the forthcoming week will be more successful!
