Report: Jury Meeting at 11th October 2006

The following questions were discussed at the meeting:
  1. Client terminals of some Participants must be replaced due to mass output of logs that had significantly increased load on web server of Championship.
  2. The client terminal of Participant 400251 (http://championship.mql4.com/2006/users/zamosp/) was urgently stopped. His expert filled the entire disk with logs. At that, all records in the journal point to unsuccessful trade attempts. Besides, he increased the outgoing traffic very much due to sending his logs to the web server. This breaks the Championship Rules, Clause III.6: "Experts can contain limitations to be used outside the Championship, but they must:
    • never contain any critical bugs (like looping or hanging up, etc.) or explicitly harmful actions in the expert code;
    • be economical with the use of resources on the processor and pc memory."
    Participant 400251 must be disqualified.
  3. Participant 400013 (http://championship.mql4.com/2006/users/anatoly#comments) confessed that his expert traded with the fixed amount of lots (5.00) under any conditions. His balance is not sufficient to open such a position. Only messages about insufficient balance are put in his log. His participation in the Championship must be stopped.
  4. Participant 400114 asked to change a parameter in his expert (http://championship.mql4.com/2006/users/KimIV#comments). Otherwise, his expert will not be able to trade. This comes within Clause III.6 of the Rules: "Experts can contain limitations to be used outside the Championship, but they must work normally in accounts the numbers of which are from 400 000 to 405 000". Besides, Organizators may not change expert settings during the Championship. Participant 400114 should be disqualified.
  5. Participant 400126 did not provide the required Custom Indicator. This caused a mass output in the log (http://championship.mql4.com/2006/users/lkc009/journal). This also caused the expert's inability to trade. His or her participation in the Championship was immediately stopped.
  6. No experts can be replaced with a "fixed version" during the Championship.

Interview with Harry Brinkhuis

To my findings a Take Profit of 42 and a Stop Loss of 84 is the right combination for Phoenix. They are part of what I call the balance between settings, timeframe, Stop Loss and Take Profit. Other people that were testing Phoenix tried to change Take Profit and Stop Loss and got very different results. They somehow changed "The Balance"!
