The Championship is over. We all have done a good job in it. Many made a poor fist at it, but this is not a reason for doubts about whether or not the decision to develop automated trading system is right. My results certify that market requires luckiness: I described lacks and defects that I had noticed in my indicator and EA, but it was interesting that all the defects had not disturbed my Expert to take the first place. This Automated Trading Championship 2006 was by far the most amazing contest for algorithm trading, an event that brought together 258 developers from all over the world. Dozens of ideas were confronted to the market reality. The Automated Trading Championship 2006 records are in themselves a very valuable source of research for developers.

To the ones that are still trying to find a profitable strategy: Don't give up and study carefully the records of this Championship. You will also need a bit of statistical knowledge, a good sensibility to the market behavior, and a lot of persistence. You have already had the most complex and indispensable item: MetaTrader. These elements - MetaTrader, statistical reasoning, the market behavior and passion - will give you THE EDGE over the multi-millionaire, technology overfed and PhDs-overcrowded Quantitative Finance departments of banks, I assure you!

Third place - Nikolay Kositsin, Russia. His prize is 15 000 dollars from Interbank FX LLC. His Expert Advisor, GODZILLA, earned over 21 thousand dollars!

To be honest, prior to this championship of trading robots, I did not take automated trading very seriously and supposed this occupation to be a kind of just a highbrow pastime. So, in MQL 4, I concentrated on development of more and more complicated indicators for manual trading. But preparations for the Championship, its process itself followed by analysis of inaccuracies made in setting of external variables in my EA assured me: Automated trading has much more advantages than the manual one! As a matter of fact, it just needs spending some time to develop and create much more complicated and smart Expert Advisors capable to adjust to the current market conditions more delicately and more dexterously! At present, computers can beat humans at chess. So now we have just to concentrate on creation of programs similar to chess programs, but developed for financial markets. I don't think, of course, that this way will be easy and bestrewn with roses. But my opinion is: Those who will be able to appreciate advantages of this field at their true value and invest the most of their intelligence into creation of Expert Advisors will once be definitely rewarded for their efforts!
